What is giclée printing, and how does Printseekers print posters?
Giclée is a high-quality inkjet method used for fine art reproductions. Printseekers prints every poster on an Epson SureColor SC-P9500 with a 12-colour inkset and Epson Fine Art water-based pigment ink. The 12-colour inkset helps reproduce smooth gradients and fine detail.
What does gsm mean, and how does it change how a poster feels?
Gsm means grams per square metre, a measure of paper weight. Higher gsm means a thicker, sturdier sheet.
Printseekers poster papers run from 189gsm (Standard Paper Matte) through 190gsm (Photo Paper Matte), 230gsm (Advanced Paper Matte), and 240gsm (Photo Paper Glossy) up to 310gsm (Fine Art Paper Matte).
How heavy is Standard Paper Matte, and is it right for large sizes?
At 189gsm it is the lightest poster paper Printseekers offers, and it suits everyday designs. For large premium pieces, the heavier Advanced Paper Matte (230gsm) or Fine Art Paper Matte (310gsm) gives a more substantial feel.
How are posters shipped, and will they arrive creased?
Posters ship rolled in protective packaging: a poster tube, a triangle cardboard tube, or a cardboard envelope. Standard delivery takes 2 to 7 business days, economy 5 to 10, and express 1 to 2, via FedEx, UPS, DHL, or DPD. Not every option is available for every destination. Rolled posters can hold a slight curl, which usually flattens after a day under weight or once framed.
What file resolution do I need for a poster?
Upload the highest-resolution file you have. A common guideline is 150 to 300 DPI at final print size. A 50×70 cm poster at 150 DPI needs about 2,953×4,134 pixels, and at 300 DPI about 5,906×8,268 pixels. Larger posters are viewed from farther away, so they can sit near the lower end.
What is the difference between matte, glossy, and fine art poster paper?
Matte paper has a non-reflective surface that suits bright rooms and illustration-led designs.
Glossy photo paper gives punchier contrast for photography but shows glare and fingerprints more easily.
Fine Art Paper Matte is a premium stock aimed at art prints.
