Kids’ clothing is more or less similar to adults’, except for the size, of course. What makes custom kids’ apparel a fine product to sell, is that children are not into plain apparel - they need colors, shapes, characters and more. Printed designs are perfect for that!
Create custom kids’ clothing under your own brand for customers all over the world with Printseekers!
All apparel pieces are available for kids aged 4 to 12 years, and every product has a size chart to understand the sizes better.
Customisable T-shirts are available in more than 25 colors. This is 100% cotton kids' apparel. Cotton provides breathability & it is a skin-friendly material, suitable for those with allergies. The material itself is well suited for printing, with a weight of 160g / m2.
The hoodies are available in 30 different colors which allows you to sell personalized hoodies according to your business needs. Our print on demand hoodies are made from a cotton and polyester blend (80% cotton, 20% polyester). The material has a weight of 280g / m2, which is premium in terms of suitability for printing and overall quality. Cotton is a very skin friendly material that lets your skin breathe at all times, while polyester increases durability and other technical properties. This model has nice kangaroo pockets that are soft to the touch and really comfortable.
Sweatshirts are very similar to hoodies in terms of material & color options (20+).
Printseekers pod kids' apparel can be customized using three methods - DTG, DTF and embroidery. DTG (direct-to-garment) printing is the industry standard. It is similar to printing on paper & uses ink jet technology - the ink is sprayed on the clothing. Perfect for most situations! DTF (direct-to-film) printing means that the design is printed on a special film, which is then transferred on to the garment. It uses the same printers & inks as DTG, however, the film provides better color reproduction, and it can be placed anywhere on the apparel, including inside - works fine for printed labels.
Embroidery is a different customization method altogether. A design gets stitched on, rather than printed on the fabric. The overall process is more complex and expensive than printing, so it is usually used on small areas and with small designs, such as a logo on a breast pocket. Note that Printseekers offer to use embroidery on a limited area - contact us for more information!
Our apparel material is mostly cotton (80% for the sweatshirts and hoodies, 100% for the T-shirts), and this is the material that is especially good for children's skin, since it is hypoallergenic, breathable and a really gentle material in general. And speaking of cottons’ great properties, it’s easy to wash out stains off of cotton apparel - a good selling point for parents.
Also, it is no secret that kids grow up really fast, which means that parents have to buy new clothes constantly. This is good news to sellers - there is a need to keep up with the high demand of potentially returning customers.
Kids love unique & colorful apparel designs, they want to look cool just like adults do! You can easily tap into this growing market by putting your awesome artworks on kids' apparel and selling it in your online print shop!
You can create various designs with different animation characters, superheroes, animals, fun patterns, quotes etc. But animation movie character designs are the ones that sell the most (remember “Frozen” era, for example). Watch the latest animation movies, research what are the trending games to get the idea of what the youth is into. If you have friends or relatives with small children, ask them or their kids, what they would like to see on their clothing. Note that kids love colorful, positive designs, but don’t overdo it - some kids tend to be quite picky too. Also you have to be really careful around copyrighted content - while full of potential, it can attract legal issues if the owner thinks that your designs are too similar to the original.
Think about the fact that the parents are the ones who will actually purchase your products. So, try to impress the parents too, get their approval of your designs. For example, create cute family themed designs, with quotes like “I love my parents” or “My parents love me very much”. But if you don’t like quotes, you can create something else that would represent a loving family.
In general, almost anything can look great on apparel, however, transparent elements (designs without straight borders) are an especially good choice. These include patterns, quotes of all kinds, and designs where the background is cut out, leaving only the subject itself. It is worth noting that print area on kids' apparel is not that huge, especially when compared to full size wall art. Due to this, simple designs with few details work best - and passers-by will have enough time to pick up the full look of the design.
We have great experience with print on demand kids' apparel, mastering their production process since day one! Currently, every children's clothing order gets shipped out in 1-3 business days, and then delivered in 2-7 business days, depending on the destination. Product quality is checked multiple times before shipping.
